For over a year, Donald Trump has used the national spotlight to attack Latinos, immigrants, and people of color. He repeatedly claimed Barack Obama’s birth certificate was fake, called Mexicans “rapists” and “criminals,” and said he would ban people from entering the U.S. based on their religion. But instead of standing up to Donald Trump and his extreme policies that target communities of color, Republicans are lining behind their Party’s nominee.
We’ll continue to update this list as other Republicans stand with Donald Trump and his anti-immigrant policies.
Here’s an initial list of Republican elected officials and candidates who have been asked about their position on Donald Trump and either support him or have not rejected or renounced his candidacy.
Trump’s xenophobia goes beyond rhetoric and results in violence. See the map documenting instances where Donald Trump, his supporters, or his staff have harassed or attacked Latinos and immigrants.
